Extended service portfolio

The Optical Refurbishment Center – long term partner of high qualified HW-Service for variant vendors of wired transmission and access technologies – has extended his service-portfolio and is up to now able to provide a full Maintenance Service (HW/SW) for Siemens EWSD systems in cooperation with it’s partner SilverEngine.

Background:

  • The TDM networks will migrate to VoIP but an efficient operation of the existing TDM networks must be ensured by the voice service providers over the next years.
  • A change to VoIP systems isn’t easy possible for Business ISDN customers because ISDN service characteristics are not available anymore and an „end-to-end“ communication of Business communication within a company based on VoIP solutions is still not enough standardized yet.
  • Agreements of spare part management and service for EWSD with the system vendors are mainly expired.
  • Experienced TDM specialists are limited available.

Challenge:

  • Increasing costs for maintenance of used EWSD technologies within the TDM networks
  • Rising default risk of existing TDM central offices
  • Retention of existing high quality standards and services of voice services for business customers

  • Ensuring of delivery and swap of high quality spare parts for EWSD

As base of our extended service offer we have completed our ORC test lab with a complex EWSD system. The Maintenance service will be provided by German experts which have 20 to 30 years’ intensive experiences in telecommunication technologies of wired networks and worked for vendors like Siemens and NSN in worldwide support in past.

ORC to attend ANGA COM once again

After debuting at last year’s ANGA COM, ORC will attend the trade show as an exhibitor again this year. At the show, held in Cologne from 9 – 11 June 2015, ORC will present a selection from its extensive range of products and services.

At ANGA COM, ORC will present “hands-on technology”. Visitors to the trade show can see for themselves how even complex needs can be met smoothly and economically using pre-owned telecommunications and network technology.

Over the past ten years, ANGA COM has developed into an essential event for the broadband, cable and satellite sectors. As the leading broadband marketplace for Europe, the trade show provides a comprehensive overview of the latest technologies and trends in next-generation networks, content provision and smart homes. In 2014 ANGA COM was attended by 450 exhibitors and attracted around 17,000 trade visitors to Cologne.

This year ORC will welcome customers and visitors from 9 am to 6 pm on 9 and 10 June, and from 9 am to 4 pm on the closing day (11 June).

ORC Survey: feedback is once again outstanding

In 2014, ORC repeated its customer survey as part of its quality control process. The survey delivered an average satisfaction rating of 1.57, a further boost from the 1.78 achieved in 2013.

This year’s survey was once again divided into eight criteria: availability, response time, sales expertise, product quality, range of services, value for money, delivery reliability and delivery time. Customers gave scores from 1 to 6, where 1 was "excellent" and 6 was "fail". The survey had a response rate of over 50 per cent.

“We’re honoured to receive such a positive rating from our customers, but we also have the obligation to do better”, says ORC CEO Andreas Fetzner. “We particularly appreciate the many constructive suggestions and ideas for improvement that we have received. This shows that our customers are abreast of the developments and trends on the markets, and have confidence in us in these areas.”
